Doctoral studies in applied computer science is a programme offered by the JU Faculty of Physics, Astronomy, and Applied Computer Science in cooperation with the Institute of Fundamental Technological Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. The doctoral research is conducted under the supervision of experienced and competent supervisors.

There are following specialities within the programme:

• image recognition and analysis,
• artificial intelligence systems,
• computer science in management,
• computer aided design systems,
• neural networks,
• fuzzy logic,
• software for physical experiments,
• Monte Carlo modelling of continuous and discrete processes

After gaining the doctoral degree, the graduates can engage in academic research and teaching, and/or conduct research for industry. They can also be employed as managers in computer firms.
